Elise C. Fears

Elise C. Fears, 79, of Olathe, KS and formerly of Ottawa, KS and Urbana, IL passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 at Homestead of Olathe in Olathe, KS.  She was born October 1, 1945 in Melbourne, Australia the daughter of Roy Walter and Elise (Marshall) Walter.  She graduated from High School in Tolono, Illinois.

She was united in marriage to William E. “Bill” Fears on February 14, 1985 in Urbana, IL.  They shared nearly thirty-two years of marriage before his passing on December 5, 2016.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Urbana, IL.  Elise loved to sew.  She enjoyed camping with family and friends and playing card and board games. She will be remembered for being compassionate to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Elise Walter; her husband, Bill Fears; and a brother, Arthur Walter. 

Surviving family includes a son, Kevin Fears of Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Nancy Steele of Coweta, OK; two grandchildren, Shelby & Brytin Fears of Ottawa, KS; two sisters, June Gompurts of Champaign, IL and Mina Seaton of Philo, IL. 

Graveside services and Inurnment will be held at a later date in Illinois.
