Elma Myers Obituary

Elma “Dee” Myers, 103, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 at Marion Assisted Living in Marion, KS. She was born December 9, 1917 in Maryville, Missouri the daughter of D. Otis Shipps and Esda (Wright) Shipps.  She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1935.

She was united in marriage to Charles A. Myers on March 21, 1936 at Harrisonville, Missouri.  They shared over seventy years of marriage before the death of her husband on October 26, 2006.

Dee worked at the Sunflower Ordinance Depot at DeSoto, Kansas.

She was a member of the Centropolis Christian Church, Centropolis, Kansas.  She enjoyed camping with her husband wintering in Texas.

She is survived by a son, Don Myers and his wife Judie of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Marilyn Neuenswander of Lawrence, Kansas and Nancy Caudell and her husband Charles of Hillsboro, Kansas; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Russell Shipps; a sister, Lois Clark and her husband Charles.

A private family graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery near Centropolis, Kansas.  Memorial contributions may be made to Centropolis Christian Church and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
