Elwyn "Jack" L. Mauk

Elwyn L. “Jack” Mauk, 78, of Louisburg, KS passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, KS.  He was born August 12, 1944 in Delphos, KS the son of Charley and Loeva (Morris) Mauk.  He grew up and attended schools in Delphos, KS graduating with the Class of 1962. 

He was united in marriage to Betty New on April 6, 1986.  They shared over thirty-seven years of marriage. 

Jack owned and operated a food catering business in Kansas City, Mo, Crickets Restaurant and Catering. He was proud of his smoked meats.  He served many of the rich and famous through Executive Beechcraft Airport and several events for the Kansas City Bar Association with his catering business. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family and hosted Fish Fry’s at Holiday Lakes in Odessa, Mo. 

Jack later in life retired, he and wife, Betty moved to Florida, they lived there for a little over 12 years before recently moving back to Kansas.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; a son, Jim Mauk and wife, Chelsea of Salina, KS; three daughters, Vicki Smith and husband, Brandon of Tonganoxie, KS, Samantha Vongchantha and husband, Ty of Paola, KS and Stephanie Cahow and husband, Mike of Olathe, KS; a sister, Laurel Sidener of Manhattan, KS; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Mauk was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Loeva Mauk and a brother, Sam Mauk.

Graveside services and inurnment will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to Folds of Honor and may be sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
