Evelyn I Musick

Evelyn Irene Musick, 88, of Overbrook, KS passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook, KS.  She was born April 1, 1933 in Haxtun, CO the daughter of Ora P. and Elma A. (Northup) Ecord.  She graduated from Berryton High School Class of 1951. 

On August 4, 1955 she was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Musick in Topeka, KS.  They shared over fifty years of marriage before the death of her husband on February 28, 2006. 

Evelyn worked as a Secretary for the Kansas Corporation Commission in Topeka, KS. 

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Overbrook, KS; and was also a member of The Thimble Club of Overbrook, KS. She also enjoyed reading, working puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Musick was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Musick; and a brother, Ora L. (Bud) Ecord.

Surviving family includes a son, Michael Musick and wife, Nancy of Overbrook, KS; two daughters, Lori Scarbrough and husband, James of Overbrook, KS and Marla Polak and husband, Tom of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Letha Smith of Overbrook, KS, Doris Featherston and husband, Norm  of Knoxville, TN and Joyce Pappas and husband, Harry of Omaha, NE; a sister-in-law, Louise Ecord of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

To celebrate Evelyn’s life, a memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at the United Methodist Church, 1005 Maple, Overbrook, KS 66524.  Inurnment will follow at the Overbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the service hour at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Overbrook United Methodist Church or the Overbrook Library and sent in c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
