Floyd Delbert Enegren, age 87 of Baldwin City, KS passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at his home.
Floyd was born May 7, 1933 in Conway Springs, KS the son of Fred Enegren and Ethel (Harrington) Enegren. Floyd grew up in the Clearwater, KS area graduating from Clearwater High School with the class of 1951. He later graduated from Kansas State University in 1960 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Floyd proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.
Floyd began his professional career working for General Dynamics in California, he worked on the Polaris missile project. Floyd received his private pilot license and flew his family back to Kansas several times before moving back and beginning work at King Radio, Olathe, KS. He soon decided to start his own business and operated Enegren Electronics in Olathe, KS for over fifty years until his retirement in 2015. During his career Floyd invented a machine to measure the velocity of a bullet and created a handheld magnet that could be turned off and on.
Floyd was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa, Heritage Baptist Church, Lawrence, and attended Lighthouse Baptist Church, Baldwin City. He was a part of the Old A’s Model A Car Club, and an active Sunday school teacher for many years.
On January 27, 1957, Floyd was united in marriage to Carol Cunningham at Westside Baptist Church, Wichita, KS. They shared sixty-three years of devotion and love.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Carol Enegren, Baldwin City, KS; four children, Gayle Inge and her husband, Rob, Omaha, NE, Martin Enegren and his wife, Jeri, Goddard, KS, Sara Yardley and her husband, Dan, Baldwin City, KS, David Enegren and his wife, Keri, Goddard, KS; one sister, Mildred Stormant, Overland Park, KS; twenty grandchildren, Laura (Kellen) Hoover, Rachel (Caleb) Simmons, Bethany and Katelyn Inge, Nathan (Angie) Enegren, Danny (Shanda) Enegren, Tina (Ryan) Dick, Elizabeth (Erik) Kangas, Victoria Guerrero, Hannah (Robin) Altoft, Amelia (Tyler) Perry, Olivia (Adam) Canterbury, Maggie (Clay) Swanson, Caroline (Andrew) Markley, Luke, Gloria, and Tabitha Yardley, TJ, Levi, and Jack Enegren, and twenty-two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three siblings; John Enegren, Dorothy Enegren, and Donald Enegren, and his children, infant twins, Annette and Teresa Enegren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Heritage Baptist Church, Lawrence, KS. The service will also be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook page for friends wanting to pay their respects. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City, KS. The family will meet with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Baldwin City, KS.
