Geraldine Dorr

Geraldine “Gerri” Dorr, 93, of Burlingame, KS died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Osage City Nursing Center, Osage City, KS.

She was born September 6, 1928 in Eldorado, KS the daughter of Harold Davis and Norma (Schrader) Davis.  Gerri grew up in the Burlingame area graduating from Burlingame High School with the class of 1946. 

On September 6, 1947, Gerri was united in marriage to Dale Dorr at Burlingame, KS. They celebrated sixty years of loving marriage prior to Dale’s death in 2008.

Gerri and her husband Dale owned and operated DalGer Dog Kennel.  Gerri was dedicated to her dogs making sure all the breeds that she bred and sold over the years were top quality dogs.  She took great pride in how far her kennel reached throughout the country.  Her dogs were sought after by many people.

Gerri also loved to read, you could fill a library with all the books she read over the years.  One of her favorite past times was her dinner dates with her friends.  They always enjoyed a good meal and catching up with one another.

Gerri is survived by two daughter, Gwen Romine, Osage City, KS, Susan Davis, Shawnee, KS; two sisters, Marilyn Elgin and her husband, Larry, Burlingame, KS, Ardelle Tillish, Kansas City, KS; a brother, Kent Davis, Topeka, KS; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale Dorr; three sons, Greg Dorr, Bruce Dorr, Kevin Dorr; and two brothers, Dale Davis, and Gary Davis.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Ramskill Chapel in Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to Schuyler Historical Museum and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
