Glenda Lee Ahart, 73, of Ottawa, KS died Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Advent Health Shawnee Mission Hospital in Shawnee Mission, KS.
She was born June 11, 1947 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania the daughter of Glen and Helen (Wolfe) Cheesman. She graduated from Tempe High School in Tempe, Arizona in 1965. She was united in marriage December 28, 1966 to Gary Ahart in Phoenix, Arizona.
When Glenda and Gary moved to Ottawa in 2006, she began working at Walgreens as a beauty advisor. She loved her job, and always enjoyed the people she encountered. She retired in 2013.
Glenda like to do crafts and quilt with her sister and mother. She enjoyed playing bingo and the slot machines at casinos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Helen Cheesman, and two brothers, Myron and Wayne Derbaun.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Ahart of Ottawa, KS; two sons, Phil Ahart of Paola, KS and Shawn Ahart of Ottawa, KS; 7 grandchildren, Brandon Ahart, Nichole Engelhardt, Lori Setliff, Alan Ahart, Austin Ahart, Damien Ahart, and Kristina Ahart and 5 great-grandchildren.
To celebrate Glenda’s life, a graveside memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday May 21, 2021 at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, KS.
