Glenn I. Atwood, 80, of Harveyville, KS died Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, KS.
He was born December 17, 1940 in Harveyville, KS the son of Irvin Jesse Atwood and Lenora May (Behner) Atwood. He graduated from Harveyville High School with the class of 1958. Following graduation Glenn worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Topeka and on the family farm with his father. Eventually Glenn took over the family farm from his dad and for the rest of his life Glenn was a full-time rancher and farmer.
On November 24, 1963, Glenn was united in marriage to Sharon Fry at the United Methodist Church, Topeka, KS. They celebrated fifty-seven years of loving marriage this past year.
Glenn was a member of the Harveyville United Methodist Church and a member of Topeka’s United Steel Workers Union #307.
Glenn was a lifelong full time farmer. He was always putting his time towards his family farm. When he was able to get away he loved the outdoors and spent his time hunting and just enjoying his time with family. His family was his prized possession. They meant everything to him and he worked countless hours to make sure they knew it.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Atwood; and two daughters, Diane Atwood Thompson and Darla Atwood.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Sharon Atwood, Harveyville, KS; two sons, Terry I. Atwood and his wife, Dahlia, Bill Atwood and his wife, Kim, all of Harveyville, KS; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Auburn Community Center, Auburn, KS. Interment will follow at Auburn Cemetery. The Atwood family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday September 12, 2021 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Burlingame, KS.
