James Michael Winsky

James "Jamie" Michael Winsky, 42, of Ottawa, KS went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2016. He was born January 6, 1974 in Carrolton, Illinois to Merle and Dianne (Tauscher) Winsky. Jamie was a lifelong resident of Ottawa. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1993. He was recently employed at MacFasteners as a header operator. He, also, had worked for Mitchell's Construction, but his passion and gift was welding. Jamie's children were his world and he loved his children deeply. He loved everyone and would do anything for anyone, his infectious laugh was known by all. He was an amazingly talented welder and hard worker. He loved the outdoors, camping and kayaking. In 2009, he designed and built a motorized rudder system for kayaks in hopes it would help many people, in fact he received a patent for the system in 2012. Jamie was to be married on December 22, 2016 to Rachel Martin, of Ottawa, she survives of the home. Other survivors include his children, a daughter, Jessie Winsky and son, Jayce Winsky, both of Ottawa; his father and best friend, Merle Winsky of Ottawa; a sister, Kelly Lynch and husband, Gregg Oaks, of Ottawa; two brothers, Chuck Winsky and wife, Jessica, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Dan Winsky and wife, Karen, of Lawrence, KS; and also uncles, aunts, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dianne Winsky, and his brother, Jeffery Winsky. A celebration of life will be held on November 12, 2016 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, 524 E. 15th St., Ottawa, KS.
