James “Skip” A. Bishop, 74, of Williamsburg, KS died Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Richmond Healthcare in Richmond, Kansas.
He was born June 20, 1948 in Ottawa, Kansas the son of Allen and Buelah (Combs) Bishop.
On June 11, 1999, Skip was united in marriage to Pamela Snyder in Miami, Oklahoma. They shared twenty-three years of marriage.
He worked as a machine operator for Kimberly Clark for 25 years while he lived in California. He then moved to Williamsburg, KS, where he spent his last 24 years.
Skip enjoyed fishing in his pond, riding his Harley, and was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Skip had an ornery side, a great sense of humor, and was often smiling and enjoying jokes with his beloved friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Buelah Bishop; a sister, Mary Demeny; and two brothers, Larry Bishop and Robert Bishop.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Bishop of Williamsburg, KS; a son, Paul Bishop of Texas; a daughter, Paula Johnson of Kawai, HI; two step-daughters, Trudi Chavez of Lawrence, KS and Roni Chavez of Lawrence, KS; two brothers, Roy Bishop and his wife, Aloha, of Ottawa, KS and Charles Bishop of Topeka, KS; a sister, Jeanie Randell of Ottawa, KS; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2234, 524 E 15th St, Ottawa, KS.
