Jay Alan Weien, 54, of Pomona, Kansas passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born April 4, 1962 in Topeka, KS, the son of Dale Eugene Weien and Donna (Hastert) Belhau. Jay was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. He attended Ottawa High School and went on to earn an Associate's Degree in human resources from Johnson County Community College. Jay worked several years for Royal Tractor. And, from 2005 until retiring in November of 2015, he worked as a pumper/operator for Bobcat Oilfield Services, Inc. Jay loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed finding antiques, shooting guns with his kids and riding his motorcycle with his Brothers in the wind. He was a member of the NRA and ABATE of Kansas, Inc. Jay was united in marriage to Arlina Hoover in 1985, they later divorced. On February 16, 2015 Jay was united in marriage to Lori Firestone in Ottawa, KS. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his mother, Donna; five sons, Christopher Livingston, Dustin Weien, Devin Weien, Cody Weien and Lane Chambers, all of Ottawa, KS; three daughters, La Donna Weien and husband, Cody New, Pomona, KS, Chelsea Nanninga and husband, Brandon, Ft. Carson, Colorado, and Riley Chambers, Ottawa, KS; ten grandchildren; five brothers, Doug Huffman, Osawatomie, KS, Dennis Huffman, Woodley Weien, Jeffrey Weien, all of Ottawa, KS, and Ron Weien, Garnett, KS; and one sister, Vicki Langston, Perry, KS. Mr. Weien was preceded in death by his father, Dale and a daughter, Tinika Weien. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St., Ottawa, KS. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. also at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow services at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, KS.
