Joan Iona Bowers

Joan Iona Bowers, 87, of Laguna Niguel, CA and formerly of Ottawa, KS passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024.  She was born May 19, 1936 in  Grand Junction, CO   the daughter of C.H. Nave and Florence (Gaddy) Nave. 

She was united in marriage to Irby Haskell Bowers on February 28, 1953 in Reno, Nevada.  They shared over fifty-six years of marriage.

Joan was a homemaker.  She enjoyed trips with Irby to Disneyland and spending time with the family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She attended the Ottawa First Assembly of God Church.

Surviving family includes a daughter, Karen Conkle and husband Victor of Laguna Niguel, CA; a son, David Bowers and wife Sherry of Ottawa, KS; three grandchildren, Olivia and Joshua Conkle, and David Bowers Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.H. and Florence Nave; her husband Irby Bowers; and two sisters, Dororthy Krek and Martha Wojick.

Graveside services and Interment will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Alzheimer’s Association  and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
