John Edward Huffman

John Huffman, 90, of Lane, KS died Monday, June 8 2026, at his home.

He was born May 18, 1936, in Los Angeles, California, the son of John Huffman and Isabella (Henson) Huffman. He graduated from Eagle Point Oregon High School with the class of 1954. He later moved from Olathe, KS and had been a resident in Lane, KS since 1986.

March 30, 1957, John was united in marriage to Patricia Burt in Carson City Nevada. They shared 60 years of marriage before Patricia passed on August 16, 2017.

John served our country in the United States Marines corps from 1954 to 1956. He was a member of VFW and American Legion.

John worked for the City of Olathe, KS in the Maintenance Department, and later worked as a Brake Inspector for General Motors.

John enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife Patricia especially to Oregon, and working on cars.

Mr. Huffman was proceeded in death by his parents John and Isabella Huffman; wife Patricia; and a son, Garry David Huffman.

He is survived by a daughter, Vicky Klingenberg of Osawatomie, KS; a brother David Huffman of Portland, Oregon; a sister Francis Ethridge of Washington, three grandchildren, Jonathan Klingenberg of Paola, KS; Elizabeth Allen of Paola KS, Kay Taylor Stahl of Lane, KS; and four great grandchildren, Dylan, Madison, Trace, and Jaycee.
