John Stephen Moeller

John Stephen Moeller, 67 of Carbondale, KS passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. He was born December 2, 1948 in Topeka, KS the son of Virgil and Margaret (Houston) Moeller. He graduated from the Overbrook High School in Overbrook, KS where he was a State Medalist for the Javelin. He attended Kansas State Teacher's College at Emporia, KS where he played Football and Baseball. He married Marsha Snyder on December 7, 1968 in Shawnee, KS. They shared over forty-eight years of marriage. John was a farmer continuing the family operation near Carbondale, KS. He row cropped and raised livestock. Conservation and the environment have always been in the forefront with John which lead to the Continuous Conservation Award that he and Marsha received in 1991. John attended the Topeka Bible Church in Topeka, KS. He enjoyed fishing and hunting; watching sports on the television and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Mr. Moeller was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Margaret Moeller and a brother, Bill Moeller. Surviving family includes his wife, Marsha of Topeka, KS; two daughters, Shannon and Tara Moeller both of Topeka, KS; two sons, Brian Moeller of Topeka, KS and Brad Moeller and wife, Tonya of Carbondale, KS; a sister, Donna Croy of Topeka, KS; three grandchildren, Rhea, Maxwell and Trinity; and a great-grandson, Fabian. To celebrate John's life, services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Grace Community Church, 310 E. 8th Street, Overbrook, KS 66524. Interment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery, Carbondale, KS. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. before the service hour at the Church.
