On a beautiful Monday, December 21, 2020, the winter solstice of 2020, Joseph Brian Reeves broke his loved ones hearts when he died suddenly and unexpectedly. He passed away peacefully sitting in his favorite chair in his dream home with his wife and soulmate, Kim nearby and surrounded by his fur babies.
He was born August 23, 1963 in Kansas City, MO the son of Larry Reeves and Claris (D’Achiardi) Reeves. Joe grew up in the Kansas City metro area. He graduated from Olathe High School with the class of 1981. He spent most of his life in Olathe until moving to the Baldwin City area in 2019. While Joe spent much of his life in a suburban setting, he had the heart and soul of a cowboy. Joe loved horses and living in his new home in the country, enjoying the beautiful view from his favorite chair.
Joe was a long time employee for Unilever and Upfield, Gardner, KS. He was a proud member of the N.R.A. and a member of the Teamsters Union.
Two of Joe’s favorite pastimes were antique treasure hunting with Kim and enjoying a meal of good Barbeque. Joe was very kind hearted which was reflected in the animals he rescued and dearly loved.
On April 1, 1995 Joe was united in marriage to Kimberley Reeves in Las Vegas, NV, this past April they celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Kimberley survives Joe of the home.
He is also survived by his mother, Claris Reeves, Olathe, KS; father, Larry Reeves, Glen Rose, TX; brother, Steve Reeves, Olathe, KS; five children, Christine Marie May and her husband, Matt, Kansas City, MO, Amanda Michelle Reeves and Dane Roberts, Overland Park, KS, Johnathan Richard Reeves and Sierra Sontag, Wellsville, KS, Katherine Nicole Reeves and Samuel Anderson, Overland Park, KS, Matthew Scott Smith, Baldwin City, KS; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Valouris Blood, paternal grandmother, Genevieve Reeves, and maternal grandmother, Paulina D’Achiardi.
