Judith Wagner Obituary

Judith Lousie Wagner of Baldwin City, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, February 9th, 2021. She was 75 years old.

She was born January 5th, 1946 in Lawrence, Kansas, to Donald F. McMillen and Lucille (Robertson) McMillen. She grew up in Baldwin City where she graduated from Baldwin High School in 1964. She married Roger Wagner on January 20, 1967 and celebrated 54 years of marriage before preceding him in death.

After high school she earned a cosmetology license and started her own business, the Country Curler, in Baldwin City. Later in life, she worked for the Baldwin City Junior High making healthy food and homemade cinnamon rolls for a generation of Baldwin kids.

Judy was blessed with a large family and her greatest joy in life was get-togethers where she made the most amazing food. She was a lifelong sports enthusiast and enjoyed Baldwin High Football games and watching her kids and grandkids play sports. She loved to cook and bake and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Judy is survived by her husband Roger, sister, Alice Gurley, and two daughters, their spouses and grandchildren: Shanna Wagner and Alec Miller, Ben and Lisel Miller of Lawrence, Kansas, and Allison and Gary Stevanus, Jake and Emily Stevanus of Baldwin City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Don McMillen and her brother James McMillen.

Family and friends were everything to Judy and she leaves behind a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. She spent her whole life worshiping at Ives Chapel Methodist Church in Baldwin City and in lieu of flowers would like donations made there.
