Judy (Shotwell) Greisen

Judy Greisen, 83, of Ottawa, KS passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at her home.  She was born June 23, 1938 in Baldwin City, KS the daughter of Orville and Beatrice (Evenson) Shotwell.  Judy moved to Ottawa, KS as a young child, attending Ottawa schools.

Judy met and married Don Nichols at a very young age.  They were blessed with one daughter, Sherri.  They moved here and there several times.  After this marriage ended and sometime after moving back to Ottawa. She met and married the ‘love of my life’, Clyde W. Greisen – a single Dad who had three sons Steve, Todd, and Troy.  Together, they were blessed to have one son – Jason Paul. 

“Knowing that God brought us together made all the difference as we shared 46 years together.  I would say the Lord blessing us with five children, thirteen grandchildren and six great grands has far surpassed anything we could have ever imagined.  Having several different jobs along the way, and working with many wonderful people, this journey called ‘life’ has been amazing, and I couldn’t have asked for more.

I am so thankful for a loving God who never gave up on me, and who changed my direction in life. And His crowning blessing for me is the loving family He has provided.  I’ve truly ‘enjoyed the ride’.  What it all comes down to and what’s most important is God, family, and life-long friendships.  We all need each other, and our God is faithful.”

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Sherri Salas.  She is survived by four sons, Steven Greisen of Idyllwild, CA, Todd Greisen and wife, Carrie of Concord, CA, Troy Greisen and wife, Amanda of Springtown, TX and Jason Greisen and wife, Alicia of Overland Park, KS; her brother, David Shotwell Sr. of Lebanon, MO and wife Carolyn and their children, Amy Wilson and David Jr.; an uncle, Bernard Evenson of Kansas City, KS and brother-in-law, Gale Greisen of St. Helena, CA; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

To celebrate Judy’s life, Graveside and Inurnment service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Society for Children with Challenges and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
