Julie Ann Niehoff Harris, 56, of Topeka, formerly of Baldwin City, KS passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at University of Kansas Hospital, St. Francis, Topeka, KS.
Julie was born March 21, 1965 in Ottawa, KS the daughter of Jim and Diane (Young) Niehoff. She grew up in the Baldwin City area, attended Marion Springs School, graduating from Baldwin High School with the class of 1983. Julie attended Baker University, Neosho County Community College and graduated from Friends University, Wichita.
She worked for Sally Mae, Niehoff Heating & Air, and General Dynamics while living in Lawrence, KS for more than thirty years before recently moving to Topeka, KS.
Julie enjoyed cooking, going to the lake, thrift shopping, retail therapy, and especially enjoyed going to the Casino. She was a collector of Precious Moments and searched the internet for any she didn’t have.
Many of Julie’s friends and her sister knew her as “Ted”. When she was in junior High her hair was very long. After getting a curly perm, her friend Suzy commented she looked like Ted Nugent, the rock star. The name stuck!
She will always be remembered for her kind heart and giving spirit. Ted was always willing to help others. We can never forget her infectious laugh and her jovial personality.
Julie was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lawrence.
She will be greatly missed by her companion, Anothony Phillips and especially by her beloved pet, Jada.
Julie is survived by her parents, Jim and Diane Niehoff; sister, Donna Kneedler; brother, Ryan Niehoff (Ondria); three nephews; one niece, all of Baldwin City as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the country.
