Julie Johnson Obituary

Julie A. Johnson, 54, of Topeka, Kansas died Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at her home.

She was born March 10, 1970 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Dennis and Thelma “Liz” Johnson.  She graduated from Highland Park High School with the class of 1988.  She later earned a business degree at American Career College. 

Julie worked for many years at Kansas Unemployment Office, Westar, and Ed Bozarth Chevrolet.  Later, she worked as a waitress and bar tender at Four Corners. She was a very social person and loved making connections with all people. 

Julie was an active supporter of Joyce Meyer Ministries.  She was artistic and enjoyed drawing and making crafts.  She loved spending time with her loyal dog, Sheba. Julie also enjoyed reading all kinds of books and spending time with her numerous friends. When you met Julie, you became her friend for life. Most of all, Julie loved seeing her family.  She would text everyone often with a “Good morning, I’m proud of you and I love you.”

She is survived by her two sons, Brandon Bretsnyder of Topeka, KS and Dustin Bretsnyder, his wife Kristen, and her granddaughter Brooklyn of Carbondale, KS; her parents, Dennis and Thelma “Liz” Johnson of Carbondale, KS; a brother, Dennis “Sonny” Johnson, his wife Natalie and their children Ainsley, Brody, and Carlie of Carbondale, KS; a sister, Tracy Cashier, her husband Darren and their children Morgan, Darric, and Kailey of Carbondale, KS; aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and lifelong friends.

Funeral Services will be11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Federated Church of Burlingame, Burlingame, KS.  To celebrate Julie’s life, a visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 503 S. Topeka Ave, Burlingame, KS 66413.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Carbondale AA Group or Joyce Meyers Ministries and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
