Justin Criqui Obituary

Justin Joe Criqui, 43, of Ottawa, Kansas died Monday, April 21, 2025 at AdventHealth in Ottawa, Kansas.

He was born November 20, 1981 in Ottawa, Kansas the son of Vicki Engstrom.  Justin was a lifelong Ottawa resident and graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1999. 

Justin worked as a delivery driver at Dominoes Pizza.  He also occasionally cooked and was an assistant manager.  He previously worked at Grub and Chug as a cook and dishwasher. 

Justin was a member of Hope Anthem Church, Ottawa, and loved his church family.  He loved his job and serving the community, including helping with the jail ministry through Hope Anthem Church.  He also enjoyed cooking, yard work, mowing, and planting flowers and vegetables.  He was a compassionate person and a family man.  He loved his nieces and nephews, especially watching them play games.  He loved watching Spongebob with Kendrick, and also enjoyed Roseanne. People would say whenever you saw Justin, his mom, Vicki, would always be by his side.  They weren’t just mom and son, they were best friends.  He cared deeply for his family and friends and was always helping them, especially if it included driving, which he enjoyed. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marion and Betty Smith, Glenn and Christine Jones.

He is survived by his mother, Vicki Engstrom and step-father, Daniel, of Ottawa, KS; four brothers, Jerry Thornton and his wife, Beth, Jamie Thornton, Shawn Scott, and Tyson Scott all of Ottawa, KS; an aunt, Debbie Hayes; an uncle, James Jones; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at Hope Anthem Church, Ottawa, KS.  To celebrate Justin’s life, a visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Anthem Church and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067.
