Kenneth James Hibbs

Kenneth James Hibbs, 72, of Ottawa, KS died Monday, February 9, 2026, in Ottawa, Kansas.

He was born August 5, 1953, in Humboldt, Kansas, the son of Calvin Hibbs and Lucy (Krear) Hibbs. Kenneth went on to obtain a high school diploma. He would also live in Katy, Texas until he moved to Ottawa, KS in 1998.

On November 1, 1978, Kenneth was united in marriage to Debbie (Hatcher) Hibbs in Brookshire, Texas. The couple would share over 47 years of loving marriage together.

Kenneth worked as a truck driver until he later retired in 2024. Throughout his life he enjoyed his job, caring for his truck, and admiring older cars and motorcycles. He also took pride in working on vehicles and was always ready to repair one.

Most of all, he had a deep love for his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Hibbs and Lucy (Krear) Hibbs and one uncle, Peet Hibbs.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Hibbs of Ottawa, KS; one son, Jonathon Hibbs of Ottawa, KS; one sister, Sharon Scarrow of Humboldt, KS; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Hibbs of Ottawa, KS, Ashley Hibbs of Chanute, KS, and Mckinzie Johnson-Lee of Potter, KS; and one great grandchild, Charlie Hamlin of Chanute, KS.
