Linda Joyce Smith, 74, of Baldwin City, KS died Saturday, September 18, 2021 at The University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
She was born February 2, 1947 in Evansville, IN the daughter of Titus Clary and Beulah Joyce (Franklin) Clary. She grew up in the Hutchinson, KS area and earned a business school degree at Hutchinson Community College.
On November 27, 1982, Linda was united in marriage to Daniel L. Smith. They shared over thirty-eight years of marriage together.
Early in her life, Linda was a bookkeeper for various businesses in Hutchinson and in the Panama, NY area. In 2001 Daniel and Linda moved to the Kansas City area and in 2006 they moved to Baldwin City, KS. Once in Baldwin City, Linda started working as a Bus Driver for U.S.D. 348 for the past fifteen years. She truly loved all of the children she met over the years and took their safety very seriously.
Linda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ottawa, KS ward.
After retirement, Linda enjoyed the quiet life on the farm with Daniel. She also enjoyed sewing and had taken up quilting. She loved her family and enjoyed any time spent with loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Smith, Baldwin City, KS; daughter, Juanita Smith and her husband, Mark, Deer Creek, IL; two sons, Jim Trent and his wife, Krista, Uniontown, OH, Tom Smith, Ft. Worth, TX; sister Kathy Reinert, Hutchinson, KS; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Titus and Beulah Clary; and three siblings, Charles Clary, Steve Clary, and Jean Troyer.
