Linda J. (Nelson) Woods

Linda Jean (Nelson) Woods, 65, of Carbondale, KS passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at her home.  She was born February 20, 1959 in San Bernardino, CA the daughter of Roger Nelson and Faye (Welch) Nelson.

Linda worked in Topeka, KS as a Railroad Clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad before her retirement. 

She was united in marriage to Randall C. “Randy” Woods on June 4, 1999.  They shared over twenty-five years of marriage before Randy’s passing on December 16, 2024.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved her dogs dearly and was a horse enthusiast.  She especially loved taking care of her special needs son, Michael.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Faye Nelson.    

Surviving family includes her sons, Adam Neal and wife, Crystal of Kansas City, MO and Michael Woods of Carbondale, KS; step-sons, Jeremy Woods and Brandon Woods both of Topeka, KS;  a step-daughter, Carah Emory of Lawrence, KS; several grandchildren, Sarah Emory, Natalie Woods and Brendan Mariez; and several great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society or Autism Research Institute and may be sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
