Lucille Duvall Obituary

Lucille’s extraordinary life, which began on July 24, 1951, and gently came to a close on June 22, 2025, was a testament to the transformative power of unconditional love, kindness and devotion.  As she embarked on her next journey at the remarkable age of 73, she left behind and indelible legacy that will continue to inspire her loved ones to cherish every moment, laugh with abandon and cry with gratitude.

Surrounded by her loving family in her Overland Park, Kansas residence, Lucille passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life of purpose, joy and profound connections cultivated through countless unforgettable family gatherings.  Born in Pomona, Kansas to John and Ruth Duvall, Lucille embodied the ultimate expression of motherly love, exemplifying her parents’ values and legacy and her memory will continue to uplift and motivate all who knew her.

Although she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Johnny Duvall, sisters Thelma, Mary, Helen, Gwenda, and grandson Riley Owen Wilson, her indomitable spirit will live on, inspiring others to live with intention, love without condition and cherish every moment.

As a dedicated homemaker, caregiver and devoted mother, Lucille pursued her passion to become a CAN and later worked at Ransom Memorial Hospital, touching countless lives with her compassion, kindness and generosity.

United in marriage to Ralph Wilson Jr., they had three beautiful children, Kimberly Burr, Larry Wilson and Chad Wilson, who were the epicenter of her universe.  Later, she found love again with Terry Crump and although their journey together came to an end, the lessons she learned and the love she shared will forever be etched in her heart.

Our beloved mother, Lucille, will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to empower us to live, love and cherish every moment.  With a heart of gold, Lucille’s love for her family, especially her grandkids, was boundless and her favorite holiday, Christmas, was a time of joy, giving, and sharing love, values she embodied every day.

Lucille was a woman of many talents and hobbies, finding solace in gardening, traveling and exploring the beauty of nature, with Yellowstone Park and the mountains being her happy place.  Her love, light and legacy will continue to guide us, inspiring us to create positive change and live to the fullest.  I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. David Edalati and ACG Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion they showed to my mother and family.

A Celebration of Lucille’s Life will be held at Lucille’s home in Overland Park, KS.
