Marie L. (Hildebrandt) Lines Draves

Marie Louise (Hildebrandt) Lines Draves, 83, of Ottawa, KS passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Rock Creek of Ottawa, KS.  She was born April 14, 1938 on the family farm near Quenemo, KS the daughter of Henry O. and Minnie (Niehoff) Hildebrandt. 

Marie worked as a seamstress for H.D. Lee Company in Ottawa, KS.  She later worked at King Radio where she was a technician.

She was united in marriage to John D. “Jack” Draves on February 10, 1996.  They shared over  twenty-two years of marriage before the death of her husband on August 5, 2018. 

Marie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa, KS where she served as a Sunday School and Mid-Week Teacher. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was a loving provider for her three sons.  She will be remembered for her artistic skills in embroidery and paintings.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Ms. Draves was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John “Jack” Draves; and two sister-in-laws, Maxine and Margo Hildebrandt.

Surviving family includes her three sons, Ricky Lines and wife, Grace of Ottawa, KS, Randy Lines and wife, Diane of Lincoln, MO and Rodney Lines and wife, Agnes of San Antonio, TX; step-son, Steven Draves of Leeton, MO; three brothers, Leroy Hildebrandt, Henry A. Hildebrandt and wife, Ramona and Norman Hildebrandt all of Ottawa, KS; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

To celebrate Marie’s life, a service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, KS.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Ottawa, KS and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
