Mary Ann Culley, age 73, of Baldwin City, Kansas, passed away peacefully in her home January 7, 2021. She was born October 7, 1947 in Wyandot Oklahoma, the second daughter of Noble and Dortha Beeman.
Mary moved to Baldwin City, KS in 1986, when she was offered and accepted the position as Administrator for the Orchard Lane Nursing Facility. Afterwards, Mary owned, managed, and operated Culley’s Corner and Culley’s Liquor Store in Baldwin City for several years.
Mary enjoyed spending time in her favorite chair near the wood stove in the winter months. She would feed the birds and enjoyed watching the change of seasons through her large dining room windows. Mary loved playing cards and board games and spending time with family. She was an avid reader and loved books of all kinds.
Mary was united in marriage to Gary L Culley on May 12, 1967 in Lawrence, KS. They shared over 53 years of loving marriage, the last 10, rarely ever leaving each other’s side.
Mary is survived by two sons, Rob Culley and wife, Stefanie, Baldwin City, and Cord Culley and wife, Jill, Baldwin City; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn McCarthy and Husband Jerry of Tyler, TX; and Sandy Hartley and Husband Gary of Sabetha, KS.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one great granddaughter Emberlee Ann Culley.
Service and Inurnment will be Wednesday January 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City, KS.
