Michael Catanzaro

Michael Catanzaro, 60, of Ottawa, KS died Saturday, February 13, 2021 at his home with his family there to comfort him.

He was born January 3, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Theresa (Kelly) Catanzaro.  He grew up in the Philadelphia area graduating from Norristown Area High School with the class of 1979. 

Michael was a Baker at Kaplan’s New Model Bakery in Philadelphia, PA for over twenty years.

Michael was an avid reader.  He loved Sci-fi books and movies and was a huge Star Trek fan. Michael and his son both share a love of jazz.   He loved his job and often brought his love home cooking up wonderful food for his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother Theresa Catanzaro.

Michael is survived by his son, Michael E. Catanzaro, Allentown, PA; two sisters, Stephanie Catanzaro Gardas and her husband, Gregory, Ottawa, KS, Ann Catanzaro Thoden and her husband, William, Upper Darby, PA; and five nephews, Angelo Maestre, Silverthorne, CO, Manuel Maestre, Ottawa, KS, James Catanzaro, Ottawa, KS, Daniel Catanzaro, Ottawa, KS,  and Anthony Catanzaro, Ottawa, KS.

Michael’s memorial service will be held at a later date in Philadelphia, PA.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Oncology, Advent Health Shawnee Oncology or Phoenix Home Care and Hospice sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
