Michael James Daniels, 62, of Wellsville, KS, passed away surrounded by his family Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
He was born October 30, 1963, in Iola, KS, to James Darrel Daniels and Elisabeth Lina (Bayer) Daniels. Mike grew up in Ottawa, KS, and attended public schools, graduating from Ottawa High School in 1982.
Mike met the love of his life, Kerri Ann Siemens, and they married July 30, 1988, in Olathe, KS.
Mike worked and attended classes at Johnson County Community College early in their marriage. He loved serving at Lakeview Village in Lenexa and at Medicalodge in Gardner, KS. His passion was to try and make life as pleasant as possible for those who were suffering. That purpose came from a love of Jesus Christ, to love others because of God’s great love for us! Mike loved his family and especially all of his grandchildren. Making memories that pointed them to Christ was a priority.
Mike also enjoyed an entrepreneurial life after leaving Medicalodge. He owned Daylight Donuts in Ottawa for over 9 years and then went on to own retail shops in Branson, MO, flipped properties, and operated a nightly rental property management company. Mike was also a member of Woodland Hills Family Church in Branson.
He is survived by his wife, Kerri Daniels of Wellsville, KS; three daughters, Anna Palmer and her husband, Danny, of Wellsville, KS, and their children, Landon, Elliot, Finn, and Nehemiah; Katherine "Katie" Daniels of Wellsville, KS; and Erica Taylor and her husband, Braxton, of Osawatomie, KS, and their children, Wyatt and Avery; one son, Anthony Daniels and his wife, Sydney, of Wellsville, KS; his mother, Elisabeth Daniels of Universal City, TX; his mother-in-law, Pat Siemens of Olathe, KS; and several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his father, James Daniels.
Funeral Services were at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Ottawa Bible Church, Ottawa, KS. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope House and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
