Mildred G Walker

Mildred Grace Walker, age 93, of Burlingame, KS, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook, KS.  She was born on July 19, 1928 in Iuka, KS the daughter of Clinton Mott and Clara (Brown) Mott. Mildred graduated from Mullinville High School, Mullinville, KS, with the Class of 1946.

On May 26, 1953 Mildred was united in marriage to Joseph W. Walker, Jr. in Pratt, KS.  They shared fifty-two years of loving marriage until the death of Joseph in March of 2006.

Mildred was a lifelong homemaker and housewife.  She was a caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and took great pride in her family.  She loved especially playing board games with the grandchildren later in life.  She was an active Girl Scout Leader in her youth and enjoyed helping the young girls in Girl Scouts.  Most important to Mildred was that her family knew through her actions that she loved them all unconditionally.

Mildred was a member of the Osage City Church of Christ.  She volunteered for the Census Bureau when she was able and helped with the local newspaper delivery routes occasionally.  She was very involved in making Arts and Crafts.  She especially was fond of needlepoint and embroidery. 

Mildred is survived by her son, Rance Walker and his wife, Mickie Sue, Burlingame, KS; her daughter, Kylin Griffin and her husband, Tim, Burlingame, KS; four grandchildren, Adrian Walker, Topeka, KS, Amanda Shewey, Atchison, KS, Ian Griffin, Burlingame, KS, Reanna Crumpton, Baldwin City, KS; and seven great grandchildren, Harper, Timothy, Deacon, Gracelynn, Memphis, Walker, and Holden.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Walker, Jr.; her parents, Clinton and Clara Mott; and four siblings, Dale Mott, Gene Mott, Eleanor MacClaren, and Dorothy Martin.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Osage City Church of Christ, Osage City, KS.  Interment will follow in Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame, KS.  The family will greet friends for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2002 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Burlingame, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Osage City Church of Christ sent c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
