Norma L Rice

Norma L. Rice, age 94, of Topeka, KS, passed away Friday July 16, 2021, at Lexington Park Assisted Living, Topeka.  She was born in Burlingame, KS on November 3, 1926 the daughter of David Love and Reva (Rogers) Love. Norma grew up in Burlingame graduating from Burlingame High School with the class of 1944.

On October 9, 1959 Norma was united in marriage to Dean Rice at Fairhope, AL.  Norma and Dean lived for twenty-five years in Utah before returning to Burlingame.  After Dean’s death in 1994 Norma moved to Topeka.  After retirement Norma loved to travel.  She took many trips even after Dean’s death to Mississippi and Wyoming to visit family. She loved learning, music, and excelled in needlepoint, creating dozens of pieces. Over the years Dean and Norma were very active members in the Corinthian Chapter #181 Order of the Eastern Star of Burlingame.

Norma worked her entire professional career in the United States Transportation Department retiring from Hill Air Force base in Ogden, UT. 

Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Rice, siblings; Wayne Love, Roger Love, Glenn Love, Marge Love Dial and her parents.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss Norma’s witty sense of humor. 

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday August 20, 2021 at the Federated Church of Burlingame.  Interment will follow at Burlingame Cemetery. .  Memorial contributions may be made to Norma Rice Memorial Fund sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
