Pamela Sue Howard, 84, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Ottawa with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.
Pam was born August 18, 1941, in Ottawa, Kansas, to John Fredrick "Fritz" Weidner and Ruth Lillian (Richardson) Weidner. She graduated from Ottawa High School and later attended Ottawa University.
On January 29, 1960, Pam married Roger Eugene Howard at the United Methodist Church in Ottawa. During their marriage, they welcomed one son.
After college, Pam began her career as a bookkeeper at her father's gas station. She later served as Bob Hill's secretary at Kansas State Bank, worked at Bob Shields Insurance, and was an assembly line supervisor at King Radio. In later years, she enjoyed working alongside her son, assisting with bookkeeping at KOFO.
A daddy's girl at heart, she found joy in life's simple pleasures. Pam held deep respect for her father, treasured the years they spent together on the family farm, and continued to seek his guidance in memory long after he was gone.
Pam lived most of her life on the farm her family built outside of town, a place she truly loved. Whether she was tending to her garden or caring for the horses, dogs, and cats that were always part of her life, she was happiest outdoors.
Family was the center of Pam's life. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren and found her greatest joy in watching them grow. Whether attending school events, spending hours watching cartoons together after school, or simply sharing the ordinary moments of everyday life, she was always there to love and support them.
Pam also treasured the friendships she made throughout her life. As an active member of the Red Hat Society, she enjoyed gathering with friends, sharing stories, and making lasting memories.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Weidner.
She is survived by her son, Brad Howard and wife Sandy of Ottawa, Kansas; granddaughters, Allison Mozer and husband Nick of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kylene Kimberling and husband Adam of Shawnee, Kansas; and great-grandsons, Liam and Callen Kimberling.
A visitation to celebrate Pam's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home in Ottawa, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Ottawa Bible Church and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067.
