Patricia Lee Fredricks, 89, of Ottawa, KS died Monday, July 11, 2022 at her home in Ottawa.
She was born March 9, 1933 in Ottawa, KS the daughter of Harry Dale and Nettie Belle (Carr) Dale. Patricia was a lifelong Ottawa resident graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1951.
On August 15, 1954, Patricia was united in marriage to Herbert Fredricks at Faith Bible Church, Ottawa, KS. They shared 53 years of loving marriage until Herbert’s passing in 2008
Patricia started as a bookkeeper at Willis Nursery and worked there for 15 years until it closed. She then began working as a bookkeeper and receptionist in the lab at Ottawa Family Physicians until her retirement in 1998. She was loved by everyone at her work. Even those who worked at Ottawa Family Physicians after her time there know her well for her yearly Christmas treat trays she brought to the staff.
Patricia was a wonderful hostess, and was always hospitable, gracious, kind, and generous. Her home was family central, including all the holiday dinners, and family events. She was the glue that held the Fredricks family intact and kept them close over the years. She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play sports or participate in music and other activities. She will be best remembered as a devoted Christian who read her bible daily and spent every day trying her best to emulate her savior Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nettie Belle Dale, her husband, Herbert Fredricks, and a son, Jeffery Fredricks.
She is survived by two daughters, Christie Gorton and her husband, Brent, of Princeton, KS, and Lisa Van Lerberg and her husband, Ron, of De Soto, KS; a son, Bill Fredricks and his wife, Stephanie, of Ottawa, KS; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Antioch Cemetery, Homewood, KS.
