Patricia Martin

Patricia Vanett Martin, 79, of Overbrook, KS died Thursday, October 24, 2024 in her home.

Patricia was born September 8, 1945 in Iron City, GA the daughter of John P. Braswell and Willie Dee (McDaniel) Austin.  Patricia was raised in in Iron City, GA area graduating from Seminole County High School, Donalsonville, GA, with the class of 1963.

On August 19, 1966, Patricia was united in marriage to Clyde Martin in Iron City, GA.  They later divorced. 

Patricia was a lifelong homemaker and mother who worked many various clerical jobs throughout her life.  She worked for the State of Florida, JC Penny, Padgett Jewelry in Quincy, GA and many other various businesses over her career.  Patricia loved to sew and decorate in her free time. She loved the Lord and her family so much.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, LoRetta Martin Yates and her husband Wayne Yates, Ashland City, TN; a son, Spence Martin and his fiancé Anna Akers, Overbrook, KS; two sisters, Judith Hardegree and her husband, Daryl, Mineola, TX, Vickie Comerford, Albany, GA; three grandchildren, Logan Wright, Edward Wright and Geralt Wright; two sister-in-law, Cheri Harmison, Overbrook, KS and Carolyn Martin, Overbrook, KS; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John P. Braswell and Willie Dee (McDaniel) Austin; two brothers, Carlous E. Braswell, John A. Braswell; brother-in-law, Don Martin; sister-in-law, Sue Martin; and ex-husband, Clyde Martin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2024 at Overbrook United Methodist Church, Overbrook, KS.  The family will meet with friends for a visitation prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to the service hour at the church.  Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home P.O.
