Paul David Clark, 80, of Ottawa, KS passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at his home. He was born August 2, 1943 in Manhattan, KS the son of Floyd Harvey Clark and Helen LaVerne (Roberts) Clark. Paul graduated from West Covina High School with the Class of 1960. He later attended UCLA.
He was a statistician for an aviation company in California before becoming a kiln operator in El Monte, California. While in California, he enjoyed surfing. He also enjoyed backpacking in the Sierra Madre Mountains using only a compass and map. Paul later spent time in Kauai, Hawaii where he also enjoyed backpacking.
He married Than Thi on November 16, 2007. They shared over fourteen years of marriage before her passing on January 16, 2021.
Paul eventually moved to Ottawa, KS where he worked at Ottawa University in the Maintenance Department until his retirement.
He also enjoyed building model airplanes from the WWII era.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Than.
Surviving family includes his sister, Sandra Callaway of Overland Park, KS; a niece, Cory Ann Robles of Wheeler, TX; two nephews, Troy Damen Callaway of Wheeler, TX and Kelly Dane Callaway of Magnolia, TX; and a half-sister, Sharon LeClair and her husband, Bruce of Lawrence, KS.
Cremation is planned. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
