Phillip M. Williams, 85, of Olathe, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. He was born August 27, 1938 in Kansas City, MO the son of Charles W. Williams and Katherine Mae (Wells) Williams. He graduated from Wellsville High School with the Class of 1956.
He served our country in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960.
Phillip worked in many other occupations, including as a delivery driver for Rainbo bread across Kansas and manufacturing at Quaker Oats/Heinz in Lawrence where he retired from in 2001.
On May 31, 1959, Phillip was united in marriage to Judy K. Gibson in Clovis, New Mexico. They shared sixty-three loving years of marriage together and lived in several Kansas cities, Admire, Winfield, Winchester, Emporia, and Ottawa before Judy’s passing on November 24, 2022.
Phillip and Judy moved back to Ottawa, KS in 1973. In 1980 they built a house in the country. Phillip enjoyed traveling across the country on their motorcycle with friends. He also enjoyed hunting deer and pheasant on annual trips, camping, boating, and fixing stuff around the home. Phillip always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy; two daughters, Brenda Williams and Linda Williams; a granddaughter, Lindsay Kennedy; three brothers, Fred Williams, Charles Williams, Wayne Williams; and a sister, Beverly McCathy.
Surviving family includes a daughter, Barbara Jo Wilks of Ottawa, KS; two sons, Jimmy Lee & Tanya Williams of Aurora, CO and Thomas Christopher & Nikohl Williams of Olathe, KS; a sister, Glenna & Gene Flakus of Lawrence, KS; a sister, Shirley Renchen of Yukon, OK; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home before the service.
