Ramona Hildebrandt

Ramona Darlene Hildebrandt, age 82, of Ottawa, KS, passed away November 11, 2023, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS with her family at her side.

Ramona was born September 17, 1941, in Ottawa, KS, the daughter of Vincent L. Johnson and Cornelia (Bittenbender) Johnson. Ramona was a lifelong Franklin County resident, graduating from Pomona High School, Pomona, KS with the class of 1959. 

On September 17, 1959, Ramona was united in marriage to Henry Hildebrandt in Ottawa, KS.  This past September they shared their sixty-fourth year of marriage

She was a lifelong homemaker and housewife while also holding various positions in numerous different companies in the Ottawa area.  In her younger years she worked behind the Café counter at Woolworths and then was an Avon Representative in the Ottawa area.  She also worked in the Fabric Department in Wal-Mart.  She finished her working career as a Care Giver at the local S.R.S. office all in Ottawa.
 
Ramona was the matriarch of the Hildebrandt family.  She was the driving force that brought everyone together and held all the controls of keeping the family functioning smoothly.  She loved to go for drives with her husband Henry and always enjoyed their camping trips over the years.  She loved being able to attend church and read her Bible regularly.  She loved her Angel Collection and now she's surrounded by Angels.  Her family loved her baking and she always enjoyed keeping up her flowers in the garden.  What she cherished most of all in her life was being a devoted and loving grandmother.  She was there for every event and moment that she could make in their lives.
 
She is survived by her husband, Henry Hildebrandt, Ottawa, KS; two daughters, Connie Hildebrandt, Ottawa, KS, Brenda Eckard, Ottawa, KS; a sister, Rebecca Beers, Ottawa, KS; five grandchildren, Chris Hildebrandt, Ottawa, KS, Jennille Yeager, Ottawa, KS, Nikki Coy, Ottawa, KS, Ashley Hird, Ottawa, KS, Angela Howard, Paola, KS; nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Cornelia Johnson; a brother Jimmie Johnson; and a son, Steve Hildebrandt.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, Ottawa, KS.  The family will greet friends for a visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Ottawa, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association sent in care of Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
