Randall C. "Randy" Woods

Randall C. “Randy” Woods, 68, of Carbondale, KS passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 at his home.  He was born December 9, 1956 in Amarillo, TX the son of Charley Woods and Dorothy (Johnson) Woods.  He graduated from Caprock High School in Amarillo with the Class of 1975.

Randy began work with the Santa Fe Railroad in Amarillo, TX.  He later worked in Kansas City and met his wife, Linda and worked in Topeka, KS as a Railroad Clerk retiring in 2012.  He was a Volunteer Firefighter from 2009-2016 with the Osage County Fire District #1.

He was united in marriage to Linda Nelson on June 4, 1999.  They shared over twenty-five years of marriage. 

Randy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In his earlier years, he raced cars on the dirt track in Amarillo, TX.  He enjoyed racing Ford’s and his car was #44. He was an avid NASCAR Fan. Randy also loved watching Funny Videos. 

Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Dorothy Woods; and a sister, Janet Woods Malone. 

Surviving family includes his wife, Linda Woods; three sons, Jeremy Woods and Brandon Woods both of Topeka, KS, and Michael Woods of Carbondale, KS; a daughter, Carah Emory of Lawrence, KS; a step-son, Adam Neal and wife, Crystal of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Carol Reed and husband, Kenneth of Tulsa, OK; several grandchildren, Sarah Emory, Natalie Woods and Brendan Mariez; several great-grandchild; and nephews, Robert Malone and wife, Nikki, Erik Reed and wife, Jamie and Keith Reed and wife, Randi.

Randy’s favorite song was Amarillo by Morning.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society or Autism Research Institute and may be sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
