Richard “Rick” Dorshorn, 82 years old, passed away Friday, April 8, in his Baldwin City home. He was a carpenter who had worked in Denver, CO and Emporia, KS until his retirement.
Richard served in the Air Force during the Cold War, being stationed in Germany. He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of the home: his daughters, Lynn McCluskey and Lisa Dorshorn of Denver, CO; his son, Daniel Dorshorn, also of Denver, CO; his step-sons, Chuck Collins of Baldwin City, KS and Mike Collins of Easley, SC; his half-sister, Loryn Longbrake of Johnson City, TN; seventeen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Yolanda Dorshorn; his father, Louis Dorshorn; his step-mother, Jane Dorshorn; two brothers, Lou and Michael Dorshorn; and a sister, Fay Dorshorn.
To celebrate Richard’s life, a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Grace Chapel, 419 S. 3rd Street, Carbondale, KS 66414.
