Robert Wesley Sights

Robert Wesley Sights, 65, of Ottawa, KS passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at his home.

 He was born November 28, 1957 in Brookfield, MO the son of Walter Richard Sights and Marrietta Marie (Collier) Sights.  He graduated from Brookfield High School with the Class of 1976.  Robert earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree at Central Missouri State University. 

Robert was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America.  He later became a District Executive with Boy Scouts of America. He worked for Pearson Standardized Testing as a Project Leader and later worked at the American Eagle Distribution Center in Ottawa, KS. 

Robert married Susan Kuempel in 1988 and they later divorced.

Robert enjoyed the art of fly tying and fly fishing, and bird hunting with his dog Max.   

Mr. Sights was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sisters, Karen Haffey and her husband, Randy of Overland Park, KS and Carol Myers of Lakewood, WA; three nephews, Aaron & Brent Haffey and Robert Myers; two aunts and many cousins.

The family will receive friends 10 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at  the Rhodes Funeral Home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, MO 64628.  Graveside services and inurnment will follow at Noon at the Elmwood Cemetery, Linneus, MO.  Condolences may be sent the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
