Rolland "Dale" & Ilo Turner

Rolland "Dale" & Ilo Turner Obituary

Ottawa welcomes home two of its own, Ilo Darlene Henning Turner JD and Rolland Dale Turner PhD.

They always loved Ottawa, so much that they had the Ottawa Herald mailed to St. Louis for years . . . too bad they weren’t “on-line” fans.

Ilo was born to C.W. and Luella Henning on September 12, 1937 and passed away September 25, 2016. She shoehorned a lot of living in those 79 years. She was an attorney, a pianist, an organist, a first-team quilter/knitter and Hall of Fame genealogist.

Dale was born to Butch and Ellagleam Turner on June 29, 1936 and passed away August 25, 2023. He was addicted to tennis, immensely enjoyed reading, was a first class knitter, was a kind humane person to people and animals and demanded preciseness in every facet of life.

Along with their parents, they are preceded in death by Frank Turner (Brother) and Wally Henning (Brother)

They are survived by Darlene Henning (Sister-in-law), Maggie Kruger (Sister), Betty Silvius Henning (step mother), Alan Moore, Leonard Moore, Janet Lowe, and Jerry Moore (step siblings), Sons Erik, Colin (Tina), Nils (Susanna) and Michael (Veronica), Grandkids Glen, Scott (Natalee), Nolan, Jordan, Carolina, Jason, Melissa, Nathan and Great-grandson Gene and his feline friends, Willie, Maus and Patsy.

Graveside interment will be April 6, 2024 at 2 PM at Highland Cemetery Ottawa Kansas. A family gathering will follow at the Prime Time Grille. Memorial contributions may be made to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, The Bee Conservancy, or Alzheimer's Association and sent in c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067.
