Ronald Dowdy

Ronald H. Dowdy, 71, of Ottawa, KS died Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his home

He was born July 17, 1949 in Ottawa, KS, the son of Herbert and Martha (Daniel) Dowdy.  He was a lifelong Ottawa resident graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1969.

Ronald was a custodian for over twenty years at Ottawa University until a major heart attack forced him to retire in 2001.

Ronald was one of the softest spoken, kindest, and most caring people you ever could meet.  He was always able to be positive and calmly and quietly just kept moving forward with love and grace.

Ronald was united in marriage to Dorothy Myers on October 20, 2012 in Ottawa; Dorothy survives of their home.

He is survived by a sister, Margaret Bryant, Omaha, NE; two brothers, Dan Dowdy (Beverly), Milwaukee, WI, David Dowdy (Vicki), Ottawa, KS; a son Ryan Kirkland, Ottawa, KS; three nieces and a nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a wife, Donna Dowdy.
