Ronald "Ron" Johnson Obituary

Ronald “Ron” Lee Johnson, 67, of Baldwin City, Kansas passed away at home Tuesday, January 23, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born June 22, 1956 in Paola, KS, the son of Marvin and Patsy (Kersley) Johnson. He grew up in Lane, KS and graduated from Central Heights High School with the class of 1974.

Ron worked for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1978 - 2016 and retired as a conductor after 38 years.

On June 3, 2006, Ron was united in marriage to Tina Davidson in Wellsville, KS. They shared over seventeen years of love and adventure together. She survives of the home.

He is also survived by two daughters, Amy Little and her husband, JR, of Olathe, KS and Lindsay Russell and her husband, Ryan, of Osawatomie, KS; two sisters, Sherri Lund and her husband, Dan, of Wellsville, KS and Sue Pease and her husband, Gary, of Louisiana; a brother, Gary Johnson and his wife, Kathy, of Wellsville, KS; two sisters-in-law, Toni Flippin and her husband, Tom, and Teri Nichols and her husband, Richard; seven grandchildren, Aidan Atwood, Collin Russell, Charlea Atwood, Harper Little, Bryer Russell, Ava Little, and Rylea Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Patsy Johnson; two sisters, Nancy Morris and Terri Johnson; and a brother, Mike Johnson.

Ron was a devoted family man, especially when it came to his grandkids. To say they had him wrapped around their fingers would be an understatement.

A man of no fear he was always ready for adventure and shenanigans with his “male soulmate”, Bo Bumgarner.  If you couldn’t spot him doing aerials with his skydiving group then he may have been thundering down the highway on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle or fishing remote lakes in Canada for walleye or local ponds for largemouth bass.

To celebrate Ron’s life, a gathering of family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at his daughter Lindsay’s home, 37505 W. 351st Street, Osawatomie, KS 66064. Tina and family will be receiving friends at the house this Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Lane (KS) Fair or Olathe Home Hospice and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin City, KS 66006. Condolences may be sent to the family through
