Ruth Shogren-Fienhage Obituary
Ruth L. Shogren-Fienhage, 94, of Scranton, KS passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, KS.
She was born July 23, 1926 in Volney, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Velva (Shobondy) Hargesheimer.
She was united in marriage Tom Shogren until his passing on March 19, 1993. She later married Frank A. Fienhage Jr. on July 24, 2000 in Lyndon, Kansas they shared three years of marriage until his passing on March 25, 2003.
Ruth worked at the Topeka, Kansas VA Hospital doing work with the linen service. She was a caregiver for the late, Eva Silver. She enjoyed crocheting towels to sell at the Farmer’s Market in Topeka, KS for many years and traveling with family. Ruth will be remembered for her warm, loving and caring personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Velva Hargesheimer, two husbands, Tom Shogren and Frank A. Fienhage Jr.; and a sister, Zella Hensel.
She is survived by a stepson, Steve Fienhage and his wife, Debbie of Valley Center, KS; three stepdaughters, Marlene Norris of Berryton, KS, Susie Wittington of Meriden, KS, and Arlene Adams of Topeka, KS; a brother, Clarence Hargesheimer of Luverne, MN; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephew in Minnesota.
To celebrate Ruth’s life, a visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 503 S Topeka Ave, Burlingame, KS 66413. The family will receive friends 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Holm Dingmann Funeral Home 324 West Main, Luverne, MN. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne, MN.
