Sara Johnson Obituary

Sara RaShawn Johnson, 37, of Overbrook, KS passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her home.

She was born August 20, 1983 in Olathe, Kansas the daughter of John”Bimbo” and Tammy (Stockstill) Johnson.  She graduated from Baldwin High School in 2001.  Following graduation, she studied at Neosho County Community College earning her CNA and CMA.  Most recently Sara worked as a produce manager at the Baldwin City Market until her health forced her to stop.

Sara was a part of the Palmyra 4-H Club and was a member of Baldwin High School’s softball, tennis, and basketball teams in her youth.  She was proud to say that she was Kit Harris’s first wrestling manager at BHS. She loved watching her son and daughter wrestle, and even had her card to coach on the floor.  She was a mom first before anything else, and she loved her kids and family.  She was a sweet soul and was always optimistic.  During her 9 year battle with cancer, she was never down, didn’t blame anyone or ask “why me?”, and had an attitude of just accepting what she had and living life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Hallie Michelle Johnson; maternal grandparents, Glen and Barbara Stockstill; paternal grandparents, Leo and Flora Johnson; and a cousin, Leanna Marie Ellis.

She is survived by three children, Rowdie JeanAnna Bond and Ryder John Bond of the home, and Xavior Bond of Garnett, KS; her parents, John “Bimbo” and Tammy Johnson of Overbrook, KS; four brothers, Seth Johnson and his wife, Julie, of Baldwin City, KS, Kyle Lee Johnson of Baldwin City, KS, Bo James Johnson of Ottawa, KS, and Dayton Eugene Johnson of Overbrook, KS; two sisters, Mandy West and her husband, Monte, of Houston, AR, and Destiny Shay Johnson of Overbrook, KS; and an beloved great aunt, Carol Sue Martin as well as many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and friends she loved.
