Shirley Margaret Justvig, 82, of Ottawa, KS, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 in Olathe, KS. She was born July 14, 1935, in Bison, KS, the daughter of Arthur Lohrey and Mildred (Churchill) Williams. Shirley grew up in the Augusta, KS area, graduating from Augusta High School with the Class of 1954. Growing up with her mother and step-father, Roy Williams, Shirley worked at the Augusta movie theater. Later in life, she worked for G.E. as a customer service representative and JC Penney Credit Center as an account specialist. For ten years she worked as a patient account specialist at Children's Mercy Hospital, for which she was very proud to work. She was very active with Children's Mercy, from benefits and fundraisers to working with kids and their families. Shirley enjoyed gardening and was always planting new flowers outside in the spring, giving her a colorful home, out front. She always had tomatoes growing. She loved to travel especially around her son's football games. She enjoyed her travels across the United States, into Canada and to the Netherlands, Germany and Poland as well. Shirley was always an active member of her church, wherever she lived. She was a Sunday school teacher, member of United Methodist Women, circle groups and enjoyed all church activities. Presently, she and her husband are members of First United Methodist of Ottawa. She also assisted with Cub Scouts. On June 8, 1958, Shirley was united in marriage with Harry A. Justvig at Augusta, KS. They shared 59 years of loving marriage. Shirley is survived by her husband Harry A. Justvig, of the home; son, Harry W. Justvig, Little Rock, AR; daughter, Lisa D. Justvig-Etter; brother, Jerry Lohrey and his wife, Dawn, Moro, OR; sister, Connie Turner and her husband, Bill, of Andover, KS; four grandchildren, Samantha Justvig-Burton and her husband, Jason, Houston, TX, H. Andrew Justvig, Provo, UT, Aaron Justvig, Provo, UT, Hannah Justvig, St. George, UT; and two great grandchildren, Isaac and Alex Burton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, Roy V. Williams. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church, Ottawa, KS. Graveside services at 3:00 p.m. in Augusta, KS at Elmwood Cemetery will be open for all to attend on Thursday, August 17, 2017. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa.
