Shirley K Johnson

Shirley K. Johnson, 82 of Wellsville, KS passed away, Sunday May 8, 2022 at her home. She was born in Scottsbluff, NE, on November 7, 1939 the daughter of Samuel Schlothauer and Helen (Deines) Schlothauer.  Shirley grew up in the Gering, NE area graduating from Gering High School with the class of 1957. 

Shirley was a hard working person her entire life.  She spent many hours at whatever profession she held over the years.  She was always a dedicated employee.  She lived in North Eastern Colorado for several years after graduating from high school and receiving her college training.  While there she worked as a secretary and buyer for Harsh Mobile Mix.  She also worked for General Electric for a time in purchasing.  She was also a buyer for Rimpull Coal Haulers.  After finally settling in Wellsville, she began working for Haven Steel for 20 years.  She recently retired from American Eagle in Ottawa.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Schlothauer and Helen Schlothauer and brother Stephen Schlothauer.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Cox and her husband, James Alan, Butler, MO; two sons, Jeff Johnson, Eudora, KS, Jared Johnson and his wife, Teresa, Wellsville, KS; three siblings, Sam Schlothauer and his wife, Loni, Colorado, Stewart Schlothauer, Gering, NE, Sharon Dormann and her husband, Brent, Brevard, NC; four grandchildren, Brian Cox and his wife, LeeAnn, Mark Cox and his wife, Brilee, Brett Johnson, Kyle Johnson; and three great grandchildren, Wyatt Cox, Eli Cox, Maylee Cox.

The family will greet friends for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm., Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Ottawa, KS followed by a celebration of life service at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials to the Prairie Paws Animal Shelter c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
