Shirley Wright

Shirley Jane Wright, 74, of Ottawa, KS passed away peacefully Friday, December 10, 2021 at her home.

She was born September 1, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA the daughter of Lester Wiley and Barbara Horton Wiley.  She grew up in the Clay Center, KS area graduating from Clay Center High School with the class of 1965.  She then graduated from Kansas State University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Business.

Shirley worked most of her career in accounts receivable beginning with Masonite, Pittsburg, KS and the later for Husch-Blackwell in Kansas City, MO.

She loved to knit and sew and crochet over her life.  She also had a knack for baking and always enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.  When she was able she enjoyed playing golf and being out in nature.  Most important to Shirley was her family especially her grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois Morrison.

She is survived by two daughters, Shannon Wright Wineman and her husband Allan, Mebane, NC, Shelly Wright Tickel and her husband, Steven, Ottawa, KS; two granddaughters, Rachel Wineman, Mebane, NC and Kate Wineman, Mebane, NC..
