Obituary
Stella Katheryn (Rea) Swaim, 73, of Lawrence, KS died Sunday, May 21, 2023 in her home.
She was born January 21, 1950 in Ottawa, Kansas the daughter of John Robert and Cleda (Smith) Rea. She graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1968.
On March 17, 1969, Stella was united in marriage to Stephen Albert Swaim.
Stella began working as a returns operator at Payless Cashway and Big Lots in Olathe, KS. She then worked at 7th Street Casey’s in Ottawa, KS as a baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cleda Rea; a brother, James Robert Rea; a sister-in-law, Leslie Guthery; and an infant grandson, John Andrew Harris.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Albert Swaim of Lawrence, KS; a daughter, Shelly Lynn Swaim of Lawrence, KS; a son, Shawn Patrick Swaim of Ottawa, KS; two brothers, Gary Rea of Homewood, KS, and Steve Rea of Williamsburg, KS; 3 grandchildren, Ruby Ann Swaim of Lawrence, KS, Joseph Rea Swaim and Stacey Anderson of Ottawa, KS, and Trina Renee Swaim of Osage City, KS; 2 great-grandchildren, Memphis Kye Raymond and Michael Dean Raymond III of Osage City, KS; 2 god-great-grandchildren, Paislee and Izabella of Ottawa, KS; a brother-in-law, Charles Guthery of Oklahoma; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
