Susan R. (Hendrickson) Sellers

Susan Renee Sellers, 65, of Baldwin City, KS formerly of North Richland Hills, TX and Benton, KS, passed away May 17, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 21, 1957 in Hutchinson, KS the daughter of Homer Hendrickson and Janice (LaRock) Hendrickson. Susan grew up in the rural Reno County area graduating from Buhler High School with the class of 1975.  

Susan began her professional career as a photographer for The Hutchinson News, Hutchinson, KS.  She then transitioned to Sales and Graphic Design working for Printing Incorporated, where she met her future husband, Jim. Susan would later work as a Multimedia Program Manager for ADR Bookprint, contractor through Cessna Aircraft Company as a Technical Data Specialist, then as a Program Manager and Instructional Specialist for FlightSafety International in Wichita. She continued her tenure with FlightSafety in Fort Worth, TX as Director of Programs before moving to Baldwin City, KS.

She was a member of The Benton Church, Benton, KS as well as a member of the Social Order of the Beauceant, Wichita Chapter. She loved working on her stained-glass projects as well as gardening in her yard. Shopping and getting her nails done with her daughters and granddaughters was one of her favorite past times. Her love for photography went from a job to a hobby later in her years and she loved her time traveling the country.

On June 9, 1990, Susan was united in marriage to Jim Sellers at Heritage Park, Wichita, KS. They shared thirty-two years of marriage.

Susan is survived by her husband, Jim Sellers, Baldwin City, KS; four children, Amanda Dixon and her husband, Mike, Wichita, KS; Niki Manbeck and her husband, Jeff, Baldwin City, KS; James Sellers and his wife, Nicole, Redacted; William Sellers and his wife, Evyn, Derby, KS; nine grandchildren, Madelyn Lee, JT Manbeck, Kristen Manbeck, Isa Dixon, Robert Dixon, Telsyn Sellers, Aiden Sellers, Averly Sellers, August Sellers; three siblings, Bill Hendrickson and his wife, Kim, Hutchinson, KS; Sherri Kelsey, Benton, KS; Wade Hendrickson, Hutchinson, KS; and a beloved aunt, Judy Mosley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an uncle, Joe Mosley.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 25th at 2:00 p.m., at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church, Baldwin City, KS. A reception will be held following the Celebration at the Sellers family house.
