Suzanne Potter Loyd

Suzanne Loyd, 65, of Richmond, Kansas died Thursday, January 23, 2025 at her residence.

She was born March 6, 1959 in Accokeek, Maryland the daughter of Logan Potter and Virginia (Halsted) Potter.  Suzie grew up in the Accokeek area graduating from Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, MD with the class of 1977. 

Suzie worked at Continental Disc Corporation in Liberty, MO as a disc maker for over seventeen years. 

Suzie was an avid animal lover.  She always had pets and especially loved her dogs.  Early in her marriage Suzie enjoyed hunting with Steven and in later years fishing took up quite a bit of time.  She was always excited to be outdoors, growing up in the woods she learned to always enjoy the beauty of nature.  She was an amazing cook as well.  There wasn’t anything she couldn’t make if she tried making something; it was going to taste great!  She was very fond of watching crime movies and T.V. shows.  They always kept her guessing throughout the show. Most important to Suzie was her family which she loved dearly.

On April 10, 2022, Suzanne was united in marriage to Steven Loyd in in Kansas City, MO.  They had a loving and caring marriage.

She is survived by her husband Steven Loyd, Richmond, KS; a son, Logan Decourcy, Polo, MO; three sisters, Karen Gauger, Mechanicsville, MD, Leslie Luense, Accokeek, MD, Claudia Robison, Timonium, MD; two brothers, Dennis Potter, Yakima, WA, Brian Potter, Richmond, VA; a step-daughter, Jennifer Loyd, Kansas City, MO, a step-son, Josh Loyd, Muncie, IN; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Logan and Virginia Potter and a nephew, Nolan Robison.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home Ottawa, KS.  To celebrate Suzie’s life, a visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home on Wednesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
